When the Illinois High School Association sponsored lacrosse for the first time in 2018, there were bound to be some growing pains in some programs.

Gone were the club days, which is what many players were familiar with.

In some cases, new coaches took over, new players were mixed in with each other, and cohesion was not always a strength.
