Look, it is not supposed to work like this.

Freshmen volleyball players with no club experience and call the sport their second sport do not make varsity rosters of quality programs.

This is nothing new.

This goes back two or three decades, when clubs started to explode and change the landscape of high school volleyball.

In some cases, you have to be on the right club to get a sniff at a varsity roster of a powerhouse.

Orland Park’s Elise Ward is an exception.
