Voters stayed home in large numbers for the April 2 elections. Of the 1.60 million registered voters in suburban Cook County and 439,720 in Will County, only 223,757 and 57,092, respectively, showed up to the polls, according to data from the both county clerks’ offices. That marked just 14 percent of registered voters in suburban Cook and 12.98 percent in Will.
