“The People behind the Papers” is a Q&A series featuring the employees of 22nd Century Media who play an integral role in producing 15 community newspapers. The project is designed to give readers an inside look at the personalities that drive the journalism you have read weekly in print and daily on our websites. To support the work we do, please consider subscribing at SubscribePrairie.com or through any of our other 14 newspapers.

What do you do at 22nd Century Media?

I'm the sports editor of The Glenview Lantern, The Northbrook Tower and Malibu Surfside News. I cover anything and everything involving Glenview, Northbrook and Malibu sports, planning the coverage for those sections. I'm also one of the hosts of “The Varsity,” a North Shore podcast.

What does your job at 22nd Century Media mean to you?

My job with 22nd Century Media has a special place in my heart since it's my first job out of college. I've grown as a writer and editor during my time with the company, and made some friends along the way with people who share the same passion I have for journalism.

What is the most memorable story you've written during your time here?

My investigation into former Loyola Academy girls soccer coach Craig Snower and his abuse of his players is probably the most-memorable. After first putting the breaking news story, I continued to dig and ask countless players for any information until I learned the true side of this coach and his reign of terror.

What have you learned about the community you cover that you otherwise might not have known?

I was pretty familiar with the area having gone to Loyola, but I continued to learn how much the respective communities care about each other and support one another during hard times.

What do you like to do for fun when you're not working?

I'm watching sports when I'm not covering it.

What's one thing even your co-workers probably don't know about you?

I was lost in London as a 12-year-old.

What is your perfect work lunch situation?

Anything from Pho Nam Bac.

How are you riding out this COVID-19 pandemic?

I'm catching up on “Breaking Bad” and watched Season 3 of "Ozark" in two days.
