Two charged with misdemeanor theft
Two 18-year-old women were charged with misdemeanor theft after they attempted to take more than $200 worth of sweaters, tank tops, dresses, purses, sunglasses and underwear from The Rave and H&M inside Orland Square Mall, 288 Orland Square Drive, at 3:31 p.m. July 15.
Both Kandice N. Faulkner, 100 E. 155th St., Harvey, and Shaquille D. Bryd, 15606 Turner Ave., Markham, were charged.
In other police news:
Christopher J. Guy, 19, 16461 Prairie Ave., South Holland, was stopped by police at 11:55 p.m. in the 7700 block of 159th Street. He was charged with no front registration plate and driving with a suspended license.
At 2:44 a.m. in the area of 167th Street and Wolf Road, Kevin Moran, 21, 17615 Westbrook Dr., Orland Park, was charged with possession of cannabis and drug paraphernalia.
Traveon C. Spencer, 23, 289 W. 154th St., Harvey, was charged with one count of drivers license revoked and one count of fleeing and attempting to elude a peace officer.
Police conducted a traffic stop at 2:01 a.m. at 167th Street and LaGrange Road in regard to a car with an expired registration sticker. Oday J. Al-Amarin, 19, 8557 Spruce Drive, Orland Park, was charged with displaying expired registration, no valid registration, failure to transfer title, unlawful display of registration, operation of an uninsured motor vehicle and driving while license is revoked.
Police responded to a call at 5:34 p.m. at Meijer, 15701 S. 71st Court. Shinka L. Cole, 21, 6224 S. Bishop, Chicago, and Keona S. Cherry, 21, 8022 S. St. Lawrence Ave., Chicago, were caught bagging items at a self-checkout counter that they had not paid for. Both were charged with retail theft and violation of the Credit Card and Debit Card Act. Cole was also cited for possession of cannabis.
While completing a business check at 11265 159th St., police noticed a woman trying to enter an establishment through the patio. Erin K. Byrne, 20, 10940 Royal Glen, Orland Park, was charged with unlawful consumption of alcohol by a minor and unlawful use of identification card.
