Rydzinski was nominated by counselor Rich Rucinski because "she is a very dedicated student and wants to be a writer."
What is one essential you must have when studying?
I need silence and all possible distractions hidden. It's really easy for me to get off track and when I get off track, I end up wasting a ton of time.
What do you like to do when not in school or studying?
I love to read and write. I've always had my nose in a book. Whenever I have time, I will be reading or if I have an idea for something, I'll write about it. When I'm stressed, I play video games, watch movies and anime. I need to let my mind escape somewhere for a while.
What is your dream job?
My dream job is to be a successful novelist. I want to be able to inspire and stir emotions in people with my words.
What is one thing most people don't know about you?
Even though I want to be a writer, most people don't know I write. I'm a perfectionist when it comes to my writing so very few people see my work when they're still being edited. Those are also the few I would trust with a finished project.
Whom do you look up to and why?
I look up to J.R.R. Tolkien. I consider him to be the "Father of the Fantasy Genre." He inspired so many people with all of his books relating to Middle Earth. I would one day love to have even a quarter of the influence he has and still has over people.
Who is your favorite teacher and why?
My favorite teacher has to be Mr. Usher, who teaches AP Government. It's obvious he's passionate about his job and loves the subject he teaches. The topic could easily be dull and boring, but Mr. Usher makes government incredibly interesting.
What's your favorite class and why?
My favorite class has always been Latin. I love it because the Latin language is logical, and Roman history is fascinating. People hear Latin and they think about something that's impossible, but when you get right down to it, it's really easy.
What's one thing that stands out about your school?
There are a lot of different people with a lot of different mindsets in school. The variety is fascinating to me. Even with all these different people, everyone still manages to find a place in high school. It really is like a bunch of different societies in one building.
If you could change one thing about school what would it be?
I would change the requirement to have gym all four years. There are so many electives I would love to take, but don't have the time for and without gym, I would have been able to take those classes.
What's your favorite thing to eat in the cafeteria?
I love school's quesadillas.
What's your best memory from school?
I would say its impossible for me to just pick one memory as my best memory from school. I would say anytime I was in Anime Club or even stayed after school with my friends are some of my best memories. From an academic standpoint, I would have to say the entirety of my AP Government class is a great memory for me.
